In line with local energy policies, Toyota Canada has installed a 9.2 MW plant

Melody Collis - Assistant Manager Facilities Engineering, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada

Respecting the Energy Program of the city of Ontario, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada has decided to improve production efficiency with a 9.2MW cogeneration system. The heat produced is then used in the production processes and for heating and cooling (thanks to the presence of chillers) the working environments; the steam generated by the heat recovery is also used in the production. The benefits for Toyota, however, are not only linked to energy self-production, but the company has seen significant savings on the energy bill and reduced emissions, and can also provide energy to the local population.
