Budapest: synergies between a gas turbine CHP plant and the district heating station

The North Buda Cogeneration Power Plant in Budapest was launched into operation in 2007. The main activity of the power plant is to generate electricity with gasturbines and to reheat the returning cold water of the local district heating company utilizing the heat of the exhaust gases. The electrical performance of the plant that delivers the produced electricity into the national grid, is 50MWe, and the heat capacity is 100MW.
