At the Philippshospital cogeneration has been one of the family since 1901
Industry and tertiary sector
The Philippshospital is a residential center in the German town of Riedstadt, housing people with a range of disabilities. A first cogenerator was installed at this facility in 1901 to supply electricity and heat to the building, supplemented by steam generators and turbines in later years. Since 2014 the hospital has been equipped with a high-efficiency cogeneration plant that also supplies energy to the neighboring residential area, and a biomass plant to satisfy the requirement for steam.
