ORC Technology for the 5 MW geothermal power plant of the municipalised company of Munich
Industry and tertiary sector
The public utility company of Munich has exploited ORC technology to feed its district heating network. How? The heat is produced by a double cycle level power plant that exploits underground water at a temperature of 140° C. Compared to the single level cycle, the double cycle level allows some of the heat to be extracted in order to feed the district heating network, thus ensuring greater efficiency in energy production throughout the year. Thanks to this project Turboden was awarded the COGEN Europe Recognition award (Technology and innovation category).
