Lithuania: more energy produced by 2020 thanks to cogeneration

Nearly 70% of the energy consumed in Lithuania is imported. By 2020, 2 cogeneration plants relying on municipal and biomass waste will be installed, which will allow the country to self-produce its electric and thermal energy, reducing the amount of waste requiring disposal and reducing CO2 emissions. We spoke with the Lietuvos Energija company, which will handle these projects.
