Solvay towards decarbonisation using cogeneration
Industry and tertiary sector
The sodium carbonate production process requires large amounts of energy and therefore fuel. Solvay, a leader in the chemical sector, has embarked on a journey to reduce its environmental impact and CO2 emissions, increasing the efficiency of its production processes through the installation of a cogeneration plant. The heat generate by the plant is fully used in the production of sodium carbonate, together with 70% electricity.
