Mexico: a trigeneration plant cools the Cimaco shopping center
Industry and tertiary sector
Cimaco’s decision, a shopping center in the city of Torreon, in Mexico, to install a trigeneration plant rather than a solar one is attributable to several factors: the need to cool the environments, the high energy purchase price, the low cost of gas, the technical feasibility of the project and the availability of financing. Moreover, a solar system would cover only 21% of the shopping center's energy demand, while the trigeneration system covers its needs in full.
