CHP from biogas to save Germany's energy transition from "Dunkelflaute"

Eva Hennig - Chair of Distribution Committee, Eurogas/Thüga

Dunkelflaute is a word signifying an absence of wind and sunlight. It’s a weather condition typical of the German winter and can put the energy transition at risk, since renewable energy production - particularly solar and wind power - decreases considerably in this period. CHP from biogas plays a key role here, ensuring a continuous supply of energy regardless of weather conditions, as Eva Hennig of Eurogas explains.
