In Ontario, a reduction in Global Adjustment costs
Market and policy
In Canada, in the Ontario region, one key component of energy bills is the so-called “Global Adjustment”. To reduce the costs associated with this component, industries can decide to reduce energy demand during market demand peaks, thus also reducing the Global Adjustment (GA) cost, or install a cogeneration plant to self-produce energy and thus again reducing the GA cost.
