CHP in critical infrastructure: hotels & casinos
Industry and tertiary sector
The fourth appointment with the CHP Alliance takes us inside accommodation and leisure facilities such as hotels and casinos. Like many others, these buildings also offer an ideal scenario where cogeneration can be a solution to reduce energy bills, produce energy more efficiently, generate less pollution, as well as prevent network black-outs. At the Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort in Utah, the installation of a cogeneration plant has even helped create a sort of resilient microgrid to serve the 4 hotels that are part of the complex and ensure the constant supply of energy, given the location of the resort.
