Energy efficiency and cogeneration

The cogeneration of the future is a resilient resource to support renewables

David Jones - Manager, ICF

According to David Jones, the transition to “zero emissions” still foresees the use of natural gas as a primary source for energy production, but will be gradually replaced by renewable sources such as biogas, biomethane and hydrogen, in many cases without having to modify the characteristics of the plant. Moreover, as shown in a study conducted by Mr. Jones, in the event of a blackout of the power grid, the combination of photovoltaic modules, storage tanks and cogeneration enables a safe energy supply and with low emissions.
