Energy efficiency and cogeneration

USA: the "LEED calculator" evaluates the energy performance of a building that adopts cogeneration

Marina Badoian-Kriticos - Assistant Director, Upper-West CHP TAP

Marina Badoian-Kriticos, a researcher at the Houston Advanced Research Centre, an energy and environmental research hub that is home to the US Upper-West and Central-South CHP Technical Assistance Partnerships (TAPs), explains how the LEED calculator works. LEED is a recognised green building certification system in the USA. The US Environmental Protection Agency has developed a calculation system to support the user in identifying the costs/effectiveness of a project and the LEED points that can be obtained with CHP projects. The tool is free of charge and Marina Badoian-Kriticos explains it in detail in this video, also illustrating a success case.
