The GIZ "heat map" studies the potential of Mexico
Market and policy
GIZ has developed a heat map representing heat demand for the land area of Mexico. It emerges from this document that 67% of Mexico’s industrial energy demand is for thermal energy; the results of the study regarding the geographical distribution of heat also show the areas of highest concentration on the map, and a potential of 92,000 gigawatt hours per year for cogeneration.
